• Favorites and preferences — restaurants you save and settings you configure, stored locally on your device.
• Notification preferences — whether you have enabled or disabled push notifications.
• Push notification token (FCM) — a unique device token used to deliver push notifications. This is never tied to your personal identity.

We use the information we collect to:

• Show you restaurants and cafes near your location.
• Display menus, categories, and featured places relevant to you.
• Remember your preferences, theme settings, and saved favorites.
• Send push notifications about special offers, new restaurants, or app updates — only if you have enabled notifications.
• Detect app version compatibility and maintenance status to keep the experience smooth.
• Improve the app based on usage patterns (aggregated and anonymized).

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

Menuakam requests access to your device location to show nearby restaurants and provide directions. Location access is always optional — you can skip it and still use the app.

• Location is accessed only while the app is in the foreground (while you are using it).
• Your location is not stored on our servers. It is processed locally on your device to find nearby places.
• You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

If you enable notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — a service by Google — to deliver push notifications to your device.

• Your FCM token is a device identifier used only to deliver notifications.
• We do not share your FCM token with third parties for marketing purposes.
• You can disable notifications at any time from app settings or your device settings.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:

• Service providers — trusted third-party services like Firebase (Google) that help us operate the app, bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.
• Aggregated analytics — anonymized, non-identifiable usage data may be used to understand app performance.

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data:

• All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
• Favorites and user preferences are stored locally on your device.
• We do not store sensitive personal information such as passwords or payment details in our app.

While we take security seriously, no system is completely immune to risk. We encourage you to keep your device software up to date.

Menuakam is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Disable location access at any time through your device settings.
• Disable push notifications at any time from the app or device settings.
• Clear your favorites and preferences by clearing app data on your device.
• Request information about what data we hold related to your device.
• Request deletion of any data associated with your device by contacting us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
